GENEALOGY

I'm a former New York-trained opera singer, a life-long musician, and currently an international jazz and classic blues singer. After years in the opera fast-track I followed my heart and returned to my roots. Boogie Woogie piano great, Albert Ammons, was my grandfather and tenor sax titan, Gene Ammons, was my uncle and I felt them urge me forward. 

It was an exciting journey: Listening and watching others, developing a new style, growing artistically, and then discovering my true musical soul. When I travel, I notice how widely jazz is loved - and how it connects people. And that is what inspired me to create this CD, "GENEALOGY": A celebration of jazz music and a family legacy. This project honors the roots of jazz past, the present, and looks forward to the future - wherever it leads me.

To make this CD happen, I launched a Kickstarter campaign in April 2018. 85 wonderful people contributed and became an integral part of this project. I raised more than half of the funds needed to produce "Genealogy" and I am forever grateful. With that money, I am recording nearly all of the tunes I planned with most of the musicians. However, I'm still in need of help to raise the remaining amount. With that, I'll be able to complete recording all 12 tunes with all desired instruments, and I can fund reproduction of my CD. 

The folks at Kickstarter sent out a message reminding me that even after the closing of the formal campaign, supporters may still make contributions to me directly. And so far, I've received an additional $500!
